Let us commune with the weather gods so that we may speak of the remarkable Storm! Let the heavens open with knowledge... and early 2000s quips...
• The aging of Storm is not the worst among the cast, but it is still not perfect. Firstly, I would address her early life. Regardless of whether the deleted scene in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)'s scene looking for the Adamantium metal component, Storm was born in 1964. This would place her at 9 in the deleted scene in 1973, working well. We will ignore that Cerebro scene in X-Men: First Class (2011), because it breaks every conceivably explainable timeline. It should not be in the movie at all. I will take this time to say that I believe that the metal found by Team X in Nigeria was Vibranium, as in the comics. While it is not necessarily that close to where Wakanda is found in the comics or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fox obvioualy did not have rights to these. The first X-Men (2000) film stated that Adamantium was an alloy, as in the comics. All rings true. Anyway, Alexandra Shipp's Ororo Munroe would have been 19 in 1983 and 28 in 1992. Halle Barry's performances were 39 in 2003, 42 in 2006 and 59 in 2023. Shipp broke the timeline a bit when she appeared as a Storm aged 54 in Deadpool 2 (2018). I would have preferred Halle Berry here. Berry may have benefited from being aged more in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), but not too bad of an inconsitency. As well as this, some have said that Shipp and Berry may be inconsistently casted. However, Shipp is the exact same basic ethnicity as Berry: half Caucasian, half African-American. This could line up with some of the deleted Nigerian heritage. However, in 1983 Munroe appeared as a pickpocket in Cairo. Although, Shipp has Sub-Saharan heritage and not Egyptian, so I believe she must have moved to Cairo at some point.
• Some have wondered why the school was not renamed the Jean Grey school in the original timeline, even though Jean really does die in the original. However, seeing as Charles Xavier also dies in the same incident, Ororo chose to keep his name as the school's. Storm was also appointed to lead in the original timeline from her experience, and Hank became an ambassador for the U.N. afterwards. In the revised timeline, Beast did not seem to become a politician and was able to stay on as head of the school. Storm was not as experienced yet.
• Storm was part of the so-called 'Fake First Class'. It seems that she was however, part of the first wave of true students. She could have been identified as a gifted youth from perhaps Nigeria or Egypt and brought in after Cyclops. Although, what about those other escapees Xavier took in? They may not have stayed at the school, or at least these three were the oldest three to stay on at the school.
I am hoping that with these getting shorter, I can produce these quicker! Hope to see you soom... Perhaps through a ruby quartz visor!
