Avalanche (born Dominic Petros) is a mutant with the power of geological manipulation or seismic wave generation from his hands.

Biography[]

X-Men: The Last Stand[]

After joining the Omegas, Avalanche became involved in protests and riots against the Mutant Cure developed by Worthington Labs.Soon after he joined Magneto's Brotherhood to destroy the cure facility, along the omegas and co-members of the Brotherhood.

The Battle of Alcatraz[]

After reaching Alcatraz where the original facility is located, Avalanche used his ability to generate a gravity field so that all those he touched would be thrown away (much like a kinetic absorption ability).

It is actually unknown wether or not Avalanche survived The Battle of Alcatraz. He could've managed to escape, like the few other omega's on the island that did, but his absence after the battle would prove "otherwise".

X-Men: Days of Future Past[]

Due to altercations in the timeline, Dominic never joined the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Logan[]

Dominic Petros' DNA was later used by Alkali-Transigen to create Rictor.

Powers[]

  • Seismokinesis: Avalanche was a mutant with the superhuman ability to generate powerful waves of vibrations from his hands, creating highly destructive effects through the air, water, and ground. The vibrations could cause small inorganic objects to be shatter or crumble into dust. When used upon the earth itself or against large inorganic objects such as buildings these generated vibrations can cause disastrous earthquake-like effects.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, Avalanche's real name is Dominkos Petrakis, and he is a bulky/muscular thick accented Greek man who sometimes sports short facial hair.
    • The live-action counterpart appears to be based off the Americanized version from X-Men Evolution as he appears to be clean shaved, possesses longer hair and a slender, yet built physique.
