Camp X-Ray was a mutant holding facility used by Trask Industries to incarcerate mutants, human sympathizers, and humans with the potential to have mutant offspring.
History[]
X-Men: Days of Future Past[]
Camp X-Ray was a mutant concentration camp developed by the United States government and Trask Industries. The company played a key role in building a camp after being contracted by the government to do so and made sure to secretly manage the installation by building it in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Initially, the camp was merely a detention center for mutants dangerous enough to be considered a threat to national security.
However, the prison was not the most secure and after a string of breakouts, Trask Industries decided to outfit the camp's prisoners with Mutant Inhibitor Collars. After the Sentinels took over the world during the early 21st century, Camp X-Ray was expanded to include mutant sympathizers and humans with the genes to produce mutant offspring. Along with the South Bronx Mutant Containment Facility, Camp X-Ray was one of two main mutant internment camps.
In 2018, the mutant Bishop escaped from Camp X-Ray and founded the Free Mutants, a mutant rebel group.
