Biography[]
Early Life[]
While working as a taxi driver in New York City, Dopinder became obsessed with winning the heart of a woman named Gita. However, his cousin Bandhu won her heart over instead.
Transportating Deadpool[]
One day, Deadpool called for Dopinder's service, and as they were en-route to an overpass, Dopinder talked about his love life with him. Hearing about this "predicament," Deadpool suggested to Dopinder that he needed to teach Bandhu a lesson by cutting him up and stuffing him in a bag. As they reached their destination, Deadpool revealed to Dopinder that he actually didn't have money on him and quickly left the taxi after a "crisp high-five" to make up for it.
Dopinder later drove Deadpool, Colossus, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead to their impending battle with Ajax and Angel Dust. During the trip, Dopinder was forced to reveal that he had Bandhu in the trunk when he accidentally ran over a maintenance hole, to which Deadpool exclaimed how it was wrong for him to do such a thing while secretly praising him for his actions. After dropping his clients off at the scrapyard where Ajax was waiting, Dopinder received a call from Deadpool, who had accidentally left all of his guns in the taxi. While trying to pick up his phone, Dopinder crashed into a truck, causing a car to also collide into him from behind and further aggravating Bandhu.
Despite the fact that he got in a car crash with a bag full of of guns in the front seat and his cousin tied up in the trunk, Dopinder somehow managed to evade jail time and keep his job as a taxi driver. However, after his experience with Bandhu, he harbored ambitions of following Deadpool into the world of contract killing. Although Deadpool tried to warn not not to, Dopinder didn't listen and later started working at Sister Margaret's School for Wayward Children for Weasel in hopes of learning the trade. When Deadpool was putting together a team of mutants called X-Force to help him take down Cable and rescue Firefist, Dopinder wanted to join the team but was denied. As a result, he was furious when Deadpool decided to add Peter to the team even though the latter had no powers and was a completely ordinary human.
Dopinder later drove Deadpool, Domino, and Cable to the Essex House for Mutant Rehabilitation in his taxi. Dopinder wanted to help out in the fight against Juggernaut, but retreated once he saw what he was up against. However, at the end of the battle, Dopinder used his taxi to run over the headmaster of the Essex House for torturing and abusing the mutant children under his care, earning him Deadpool's approval.
Birthday Party[]
Six year later, Dopinder was invited to Deadpool's surprise birthday party, along with Deadpool's other friends. When Deadpool returned home, the group surprised Deadpool and started mingling with each other. Dopinder told Deadpool and Shatterstar a story about about finding someone's AirPods in his taxi. Deadpool later made a speech about how grateful he was to have everyone in his life. A few days later, everyone reunited and were joined by X-23 and an alternate Wolverine.[1]
Personality[]
Dopinder gives off a friendly demeanor, making fast friends with Deadpool and willing to accept a high-five instead of money. However, he is also not very mature, which makes him insecure, meek, and gullible. He is naive enough to drive a heavily armed and probably very dangerous client in a mask (making him the perfect chauffeur for Deadpool, apparently), and impressionably sufficient to obey even the most irresponsible of advice from his friendly client. As a result, he actually took Deadpool seriously and took his advice to kidnap his romantic rival with plans of killing him and dumping his body on Gita's doorstep.
Following the events of Deadpool, Dopinder became Deadpool 's chauffeur. He even expressed an interest in becoming a contract killer like Deadpool, even though the latter strongly discouraged it, and pleaded with Deadpool to let him join X-Force, with success. Although he was visibly frightened when faced with the aspect of fighting Juggernaut, Dopinder still had the guts to prove himself to Deadpool, as shown when he ran over the Headmaster with his taxi after Deadpool convinced Firefist to give up his desire for revenge.
