Quick Answers

How does Emma Frost's diamond skin ability work? toggle section
Emma Frost, a character in the X-Men series, has the ability to transform her skin into a substance similar to diamond. This transformation enhances her physical strength, durability, and reflexes, enabling her to perform extraordinary feats. Despite its toughness, her diamond form is not entirely invulnerable and can crack under extreme force. In her diamond form, Emma is immune to psychic attacks, even from powerful telepaths. She still requires oxygen while in this form.

How does Emma Frost's appearance in 'First Class' connect with her role in 'Wolverine'? toggle section
The connection between Emma Frost's roles in 'First Class' and 'Wolverine' is facilitated by a time travel plot that resets the series continuity. Emma Frost is portrayed as an adult in the 1960s in 'First Class', but appears as a teenager in 'Wolverine', set in the late 1970s. This discrepancy is attributed to creative liberties with the film's continuity, as she is stated to be dead by 1973, but appears in 'Wolverine' in 1979.

Trivia

  • In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, she is credited as "Kayla's Sister/Emma".
  • A Blu-ray featurette of X-Men: First Class depicts Tahyna Tozzi's Emma as the younger self of January Jones' Emma Frost, which coincides with a Blu-ray extra of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where the character calls herself "Emma Frost". The timeline of the two films are inconsistent, considering the fact that Jones' Emma Frost was an adult in 1962 and stated to be dead by 1973 [1], whereas Tozzi's Emma was portrayed as a teenager in 1979. Bryan Singer, a producer on X-Men: First Class, revealed that they took some creative liberties regarding the film's continuity with other movies in the series. Executive producer Lauren Schuler Donner has also stated that the two characters have no connection to each other [2]. The only aspect Tozzi's Emma shares with Jones' Emma Frost is that they are both blonde-haired, blue-eyed mutants who can shift into diamond form. Tozzi's Emma, however, lacks the telepathic abilities of Jones' Emma Frost.
  • Emma and her sister Kayla Silverfox are somewhat a division of Emma Frost.
    • Emma has the diamond transformation of Emma Frost.
    • Kayla has the mind control powers of Emma Frost.
