- Flemyng has previously worked with First Class director Matthew Vaughn on numerous film, having previously been directed by Vaughn in the films Kick-Ass (acting opposite Evan Peters and Aaron Johnson, who would both play Quicksilver in the both the X-Men films and Marvel Cinematic Universe), Layer Cake, and Stardust with Ian McKellen, as well as appearing the films Snatch, Mean Machine (both with Vinnie Jones), and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrells, (which Vaughn produced).
- Flemyng also portrayed Dr. Henry Jekyll / Mr. Edward Hyde in the 20th Century Fox production The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen with Tony Curran.
- Flemyng had also acted opposite Famke Janssen in the 1998 action-horror film Deep Rising (which also featured Djimon Hounsou, who would later play Korath the Pursuer in MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy).
