Mirage (born Danielle "Dani" Moonstar) is a mutant who possesses the ability to create illusions of her opponents’ fears or wishes.

Her name is listed on William Stryker's Computer.

Mirage is one of the 5 people trapped in a facility, and part of a team called The New Mutants, alongside, Cannonball, Magik, Sunspot, and Wolfsbane, with Cecilia Reyes as the mutants' mentor and nurse.

Empathetic Illusion Casting - Mirage has the mutant ability to generate realistic illusions in the form of an individual's greatest fear or desire. She can even create illusions by channeling residual thought and emotional impressions in an area.

Mirage is Cheyenne Native American mutant from Boulder, Colorado and is the daughter of a mother and father rancher. And also the granddaughter the Cheyenne chief and shaman who was also a ranch owner. Her religion is Cheyenne and also later on ancient Norse after becoming a Valkyrie.
- In the comics, Mirage is not only a Cheyenne mutant, but also a Valkyrie, and has a winged Asgardian horse named Brightwind. Also in the comics, Mirage was also known as Psyche or simply Moonstar.
Her family's last name is Lonestar but her mother's maiden name was Moonstar which is where Danielle got her last name from.
