- In the comics, Mirage is not only a Cheyenne mutant, but also a Valkyrie, and has a winged Asgardian horse named Brightwind. Also in the comics, Mirage was also known as Psyche or simply Moonstar.
- Mirage is Cheyenne Native American mutant from Boulder, Colorado and is the daughter of a mother and father rancher. And also the granddaughter the Cheyenne chief and shaman who was also a ranch owner. Her religion is Cheyenne and also later on ancient Norse after becoming a Valkyrie.
- Her families last name is Lonestar but her mother's maiden name was Moonstar which is where Danielle got her last name from.
