Stan Lee (December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018), (born Stanley Lieber) was one of the creators of many Marvel's comicbook superheroes such as the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, The Avengers, Hulk, and many others. He made cameos in several films and television shows that are relevant to his superheroes.
X-Men Cameos[]
Stan Lee has played small parts in many of the recent Marvel movies:
- X-Men: - A hot dog vendor seen when the Senator emerges from the water after escaping Magneto.
- X-Men: The Last Stand: - Jean Grey's neighbor with the water hose.
- Deadpool: - Strip club MC
- X-Men: Apocalypse: - As an elderly couple with his wife Joanie Lee.
- Deadpool: No Good Deed: As a man commenting on Deadpool's costume, to which Deadpool replies "Zip it, Stan Lee!".
Trivia[]
- Stan Lee said that X-Men: Apocalypse was his all-time favorite cameo, due to the presence of his late wife.[1]
- Although Stan Lee did not physically appear in Deadpool 2, he made cameo appearance in a graffiti art drawing seen as Domino flies through the city.
- In Once Upon a Deadpool, the writing "RIP" was added to the graffiti due to that cut being released after Lee's death in November 2018.
- In Deadpool & Wolverine, Stan Lee cameos via a picture on the bus, advertising "Stan Lee Cleaners".
- Stan Lee was originally going to cameo in X-Men: First Class, however filming was happening too far away for him to make it.[2]
- Stan Lee also executive produced various movies based on Marvel and had cameos on both film and television.
- Stan Lee previously worked with Matthew Vaughn, Jane Goldman, and Evan Peters in Kick-Ass.
- Stan Lee worked again with Kevin Feige in Spider-Man, Daredevil, Hulk, The Punisher, Spider-Man 2, Elektra, Man-Thing, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man 3, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow, Punisher: War Zone, Hulk Versus, Thor: Tales of Asgard, The Amazing Spider-Man, and every Marvel Cinematic Universe film from Iron Man to Avengers: Endgame.
- Stan Lee worked again with Joss Whedon in Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
- Stan Lee worked again with John Ottman in Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
- Stan Lee appeared in every Marvel Cinematic Universe film from Iron Man to Avengers: Endgame.
- Stan Lee portrayed Man in Fair, Man Dodging Debris, and Man in Times Square in the Sony Pictures Entertainment productions Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 respectively.
- Stan Lee portrayed Willie Lumpkin and Rejected Wedding Guest in the 20th Century Fox productions Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer respectively.
