Trivia[]
- In real life, there was an accident on Three Mile Island in 1979. However, the film features several geographical and historical discrepancies:
- Three Mile Island and the facility depicted in the film differs quite heavily from the real Three Mile Island, as detailed in this photo.
- The accident on Three Mile Island wasn't caused by scientific experimentation on mutants, it was a series of failures caused by human error and mechanical malfunction in the plant's systems. The reactor was compromised and much of its contents were destroyed, but did not breach containment nor destroy the plant itself.
