The Vietnam War was a conflict that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, officially fought between North Vietnam and the government of South Vietnam. The North Vietnamese army was supported by the Soviet Union, China and other communist allies and the South Vietnamese army was supported by the United States, South Korea, Australia, Thailand and other anti-communist allies. However, United States involvement in the Vietnam War was officially terminated at the Paris Peace Accords. The war was also notable for enlisting mutants as soldiers.

History[]

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters[]

In 1965, Charles Xavier opened Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters as a safe haven for mutants to study and develop their powers. [1] However, when the United States started to become directly involved in the Vietnam War, many of the school's staff and students were drafted into the military. As a result, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters became defunct and fell into neglect, with Xavier using it as his private residence once again. [2]

Original Timeline[]

Logan and Victor Creed[]

At some point in the 1970s, Logan and Victor Creed participated in the Vietnam War. Becoming increasingly feral, Creed attempted to rape a young Vietnamese village woman, but was stopped by his commanding officer and soldiers from his platoon. Creed killed the officer in retaliation, and started attacking the soldiers who tried to stop him. Having made a promise to always protect each other when they were young, Logan reluctantly joined Creed's side to fight off the soldiers. For their insubordination, Logan and Creed were sentenced to death by a firing squad. However, the brothers survived any attempts made to kill them, due to their healing factors. [3]

On January 27, 1973 the Paris Peace Accords were signed to establish peace in Vietnam and end U.S. military involvement in the Vietnam War. It was on this day that Bolivar Trask attempted to pitch his Sentinel Program to Vietnamese officials, but he was assassinated by Raven Darkholme for his crimes against mutants. [2]

Revised Timeline[]

Saigon Rescue Mission[]

In 1973, the mutant shapeshifter known as Raven Darkholme infiltrated a U.S. military base located in Saigon. There, she discovered that the mutant soldiers present were about to be shipped off to Trask Industries for experimentation. Darkholme, with the help of the mutant soldiers Havok,Ink,Toad and Daniels , attacked the human soldiers at the base, allowing the mutants to board a plane that was heading back to the U.S.

On January 27, the Paris Peace Accords were signed to establish peace in Vietnam and end U.S. military involvement in the Vietnam War. However, due to a time travel mission completed by Logan, history was changed and the existence of mutants was revealed to the world at the Paris Peace Accords.
